Farewell Winter Quarter

Another non-post. Technically I have one more take home final that has not actually be turned in, but I've done as much as I can with it and turned it over to my group mate to polish it up. So at long last I have the afternoon to revel in the joy of reclaiming my brain and my time. This quarter was the antithesis of last winter when my life was consumed by the job search and academics were but a little side thought. This quarter, with 5 classes, I felt like I did virtually nothing but academics. I'm looking forward to a better balance of "career", classes and family/friends in my last quarter. I have lots to say on MBA land, babies, gender, the state of the economy, etc. but not today. Today my brain needs some time to wander.

I just found this blog last weekend, and just finished reading all your posts since the start :) Its funny how reading about the journey of someone who I can indentify with so much - its scary actually!

I'm thinking of doing an MBA and I have a couple of questions I'd like to ask you since you seem the most down to earth blogger I've seen in my never ending quest go gain information about it :) Is there an email on the site? Can't seem to find one and I wouldn't want to ask the questions through the public comments- let me know how to get in touch please if you have 5mins :)

keep blogging you're a rare gem !

Oh, what a sucker for flattery am I ;)

No, I'm happy to take your questions via email. If you don't mind leaving an email address here - I'll be in touch. (I'm currently managing way too many email acocunts and haven't felt like setting one up for the blog, especially as I will only be MaybeMBA for a few more months.)

May I join your fan club? I just found your blog and I am very impressed with the writing and the clear-headedness. Yes, clear-headed thinking. I completely agree with the rash you get when looking for a "real" job. Been in IM and it is not pretty right now. Sell side is a mess, but I wouldn't write it off for a few years from now. Things change. But I digress... I could yak for hours. I think you are on the right track.

I like your reading list. Many of those books seem remarkably familiar to what is on my shelf.
