Epilogue

So I did find a job. (And good thing I didn't post while hunting because it was not pretty!)

And I did return to IM. (Corporate work, what was I thinking? 6 weeks at a well funded "start-up" put things in perspective.)

And I love Seattle! (It's my people out here.)

So I do have unfortunately early hours but I get paid nicely to sit around and think on the top floor of a downtown skyscraper with a view of the sound. Not bad. I'll take it.

And I do think Booth helped me come into my own as an old school fundamental investor. I do see a difference from pre-MBA. So the regrets are subsiding.

The kids are awesome ... absolute joy of my life.

I hope you all are well ... if anyone's checking.

To bed with me. Happy Friday.

I am so glad you are back!! Good luck with your new position. I start the application process for the part-time MBA program. Your thoughts on the Full-TIme is challenging as a woman with plans for a family.

Thank you for the update. I was wondering what happened to you.

I may email you in the near future with some MBA questions.

So is this the official end of your blog? Will it continue on the topic of IM?

Hi, I'm from Asia and I've been reading your blogs for almost half a year. Thanks for sharing your experiences and thoughts and congratulations on the new job! I always wanted to have a MBA but with family planning it delays my plan. I took a two-year break from work to become a full-time mum. Now I am back to work and considering applying for MBA. Would it be too late for me (I am in early 30s)? I want to go into IM field but my prior working experiences are not very related although currently I am in the financial industry. Your advice is very much appreciated.

Maria - Definitely not too late for you to apply to MBAs. Just prepare yourself that you will be on the older end of the student spectrum and dealing with the younger, single, childless types can be a bit trying at times. But if it makes sense for you professionally to do the MBA, do not think your personal situation is reason to hold back. Also, many people use the MBA to transition to IM. It can be a difficult career to switch to just because there are not a lot of openings (especially now!) but don't let lack of related experience discourage you. IM folks are looking for smart people and sometimes non-IM background will be helpful if it gives you a certain expertise in something (such as real company operations!). Bottom line - APPLY. You can always change your mind not to go but it's hard to change your mind to go, if you haven't done the application. Feel free to follow-up with more Qs.

Anon #2 - feel free to email anytime. This is the official end of this blog and my MBA commentary ... I may continue with a new topic ... (had decided not to but am having second thoughts) ... :)

Thank you for sharing so much of yourself in this candid, entertaining, informational blog. I can't remember how I stumbled upon it, but I've loved it from the first post to the last. I wish all the best to you and your family.

Please do continue blogging, even if it's a different theme. I love your commentary. It'd be a shame to deprive future readers of your informative and thought-provoking posts ;)

Could you perhaps tell me which classes at Booth would be good for fundamental investing. Thanks
